Founded in 2012, London and Scottish Investments, who specialize in co-investing asset management and property development, currently manage circa £750m of primarily regional office and light industrial assets.
The Glasgow-based firm, with offices in Leeds and Manchester, have seen substantial growth over recent years and found their systems unable to cope with the higher demand.
In 2018 we were approached by LSI who were experiencing ongoing problems with their infrastructure and were looking to upgrade to a more resilient server platform. Continuous downtime and system failures with their current system meant they were looking for a new solution and were keen to explore the various up to date options Microtech could provide. One of the several solutions we suggested was a Nutanix server.
Having a Nutanix server installed to replace their legacy system, this would allow London and Scottish Investments to benefit from a more sustainable and reliable system, with better availability and flexibility for their needs. Additionally, the new server would have the capabilities to evenly distribute the data if one part was to fail, which would eliminate the issues they were experiencing with their current server. After a thorough evaluation of the range of options available, we decided Nutanix would be the most suitable option for their requirements, and seamlessly installed this with minimum downtime for LSI.
Technical Director of Microtech Group, Paul Matthewson said:
“As a Nutanix Managed Service Partner, we have expert knowledge of the features and benefits their hardware provides, and therefore were able to easily recognize their server platform as the best solution for London & Scottish Investments. We were delighted to work with everyone at LSI to deliver the project and implement this innovative solution.”
